The 2012 Livestock Record books and Preliminary Entry Forms have been posted and are available on the Marquette County Fair website: http://www.marquettecountyfair.org/forms.html

Junior Beef Steer form(s) are due by March 1^st 2012 and Lamb & Swine form(s) are due by June 1^st 2012 to:  Emily Bruce, Livestock Superintendent, Box 2, Arnold, MI 49819

Marquette 4-H Ski Nights at Marquette Mountain

Thanks to the efforts of the Marquette County 4-H Council and the generous support of Marquette Mountain, 4-H'ers and their family members can take advantage of some great deals and enjoy some time on the slopes with other 4-H'ers this winter!

Marquette County 4-H Ski Events will be held from 4:00 pm - 8:30 pm on February 10, March 1, and March 9, 2012.  $15.00 gets you a lift ticket and rental equipment (if needed).  In order to receive the discounted rate, you must print a coupon and present it when you purchase your lift ticket.  The fliers below include all the details and the coupon.  Be safe and have fun!

February 24-25, 2012 – Kettunen Center

Explore animal systems and learn about animal health for a broad array of animal species. Come prepared to learn from others, share information and experiences, ask questions and quiz veterinarians about their skills.  You will also participate in hands-on demonstrations that will teach you how to help members recognize healthy, sick, or injured animals.  Meet other youth that have developed outstanding veterinary science projects and gain ideas to help others start their own vet science projects.  Open to adult and teen volunteers ages 13 and older.

4-H Beef, Sheep & Swine Teen & Adult Volunteer Workshop

February 25-26, 2012 – Kettunen Center

If you are interested in beef cattle, sheep or swine projects, this workshop is for you. You’ll learn about animal health, management, care and nutrition. In addition, you can sharpen your livestock judging and evaluation skills. By sharing ideas and interacting with others, you’ll find ways to improve your county 4-H livestock program. The workshop will also offer ways to enhance your communications and teaching skills, and learn about the many opportunities available for those interested in the beef, sheep and swine industries. Open to adult and teen volunteers ages 13 and up.
