This article was printed the Sunday after she won her State Award during Exploration Days. She shares her unique experience and love for 4-H. Input Session about the U.P. State Fair
There is a U.P. State Fair Conference Call/Input
session schedule here in Escanaba (MSU Extension Service Conference Room,
2840 College Avenue ) on Monday, November 26th at 6:30 PM
EST to discuss the U.P. State Fair livestock programs, gather input and
begin the planning process for the 2013 Upper Peninsula State Fair. All
MSU Extension County Program Coordinators and 4-H Leaders are encouraged to participate.
The meeting will be held at the Delta County MSU Extension
Service Conference Room, 2840 College Avenue, Escanaba.
Please RSVP to the Upper Peninsula State Fair at

2013 4-H Council Senior Scholarship

American Legion Judging Sheet Example
The American Legion Post of Marquette gives two $50 prizes to 4-H members at the Marquette County Fair. 4-H members who win a rosette can sign up for an interview to compete for the award. The link below provides you with an example of what the judges are looking for during these interviews. Of course, no one ever gets a perfect score, but this example will give you pointers.

2011-2012 Awards
About the Awards
Program:
The Awards program is an annual event that provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the many accomplishments of 4-H members, leaders, volunteers, and families. An invitation to this event will be posted later this year.
Individual Awards
As in past years, 4-H youth members (ages 9 and up) need to fill out the Project Awards Form if they would like to be considered for a project pin. Each enrolled 4-H member is eligible for a year pin and a project pin. The same project pin and/or award cannot be received two years in a row. (Cloverbuds (ages 5-8) will receive a year badge and certificate, but are not eligible to receive project pins).

Deadline
Forms are due to the
Marquette County MSU Extension office no later than Friday September 21, 2012.
Only those who submit completed forms to the MSU Extension office by the
deadline will be considered for awards. If you would like to submit your forms
electronically, please email them to deisenro@anr.msu.edu.

Citizenship, and Achievement Awards
Youth ages 12 – 19 (4-H
age determined by age of child on 1/1/2012) are also eligible for
Leadership, Citizenship, and Achievement Awards. Youth must fill out a
cover sheet for these awards and write an essay.
Volunteer and
Community 4-H Awards
Also, be sure to make
nominations for Volunteer & Community 4-H Awards. Youth, leaders,
volunteers and parents are encouraged to fill out a nomination sheet. This is
your opportunity to recognize the outstanding contributions and efforts that
