Marquette County 4-H Awards Celebration

Dear 4-H Families,

I am pleased to announce our 2017-18 4-H Awards Celebration! Click here for the official invitation. I would like to explain a little of what will take place at this celebration.
The 4-H Council will provide pizza and water and we are asking families to please bring simple sides that go with pizza- appetizers, desserts, etc.
After the awards portion of the evening, most of the museum will be open for our younger participants to play, while families get to know one another and visit. There will be an area blocked off for our murder mystery, created and hosted by Emma Jezek from Manes & Tails 4-H Club. We will be taking groups of 10-12 people at a time to try to solve the mystery. This is intended for our older youth and parents, and it will be running throughout the evening.
A youth’s sense of belonging is important to develop. What better way to foster this than coming together for an evening of fun and celebrating what our members have learned over the past year?
Recognition is equally important to positive youth development. All youth in attendance will receive participation recognition. Youth who apply for project recognition and specialty awards will be recognized for their work therein. This is also our opportunity to thank our club leaders, parent volunteers, and supportive community members.
You will find detailed information on our county awards program in the 4-H Awards Handbook. If you need any assistance with this process, please reach out to your club leader or to myself. We are here to help!
I sincerely hope to see you there!

Until then, Happy Holidays!
Liana

Top Questions About 4-H
1. What is 4-H?
4-H is a volunteer educational organization for boys and girls aged 5 to 19 years old. 4-H is open to all regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, religion, age, height, weight, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, family status or veteran status.

Because it’s fun! Kids have the opportunity to belong to a special club of their own, that meets their own interests. They learn while enjoying themselves with friends at meetings, social activities, tours, and fairs.
3. Do I have to have an animal to join?
Absolutely not! You don’t even have to own an animal to join an animal club. A 4-H club can revolve around almost any interest at all! Kids learn, have fun, and participate in many different areas like photography and sewing. The sky is the limit!!
4. How can I join 4-H?

Marquette County 4-H Ice Cream Booth 2018

Below is the link to the ice cream booth sign-up for the Marquette County Fair! Please email me the day/ time you would like to help! I will update it regularly, but the sooner you email me at deisenro@msu.edu the more likely you are to get the time you really want.
Those who attended Exploration Days, CWF, National 4-H Congress, and 4-H Camp and asked to give 2 hours of their time as a thank you for scholarships to attend those wonderful programs! Parents are also welcome to join their young people in the booth. Many hands make light work. I know of quite a few young people who gave more than their fair share last year and it was noticed and greatly appreciated, but if everyone could give two hours, it would make it so a few young people won't have to give a lot more than two hours! Thank you all so much for your help!
